Accessibility statement

As an organization of people with disabilities, we want everyone to be able to use this website.

Our standard

This website has been designed and built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. It was tested with keyboard-only navigation, automated accessibility checks, and at screen widths from 320 to 1920 pixels.

Adjust the website to your needs

Use the bar at the very top of every page, or the accessibility button (accessibility icon) in the header, to:

  • Change the text size — from 94% up to 150%. The whole layout grows with the text.
  • Switch on high contrast — yellow links and white text on a black background.
  • Underline all links.
  • Increase text spacing — more space between lines, letters and words.
  • Reduce motion — stops animations. The website also follows the “reduce motion” setting of your device.

Your choices are remembered on this device only. You can also use your browser’s own zoom (Ctrl and + on Windows, Cmd and + on Mac) up to 400% without content being lost.

Accessibility features

  • A “Skip to main content” link is the first item on every page.
  • Every function can be used with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline.
  • Pages use headings, landmarks and lists so screen readers can navigate them.
  • Menus, dialogs and filters announce their state (open, closed, selected) to assistive technology.
  • Images have text descriptions; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Text and buttons meet WCAG colour contrast requirements, and information is never given by colour alone.
  • Buttons and links are at least 44 by 44 pixels where possible, so they are easy to press.
  • Downloads show their format, language and file size before you open them.
  • The website works without JavaScript; search and filters need JavaScript, and every page can also be reached from the menu.

Known limitations

  • Some older PDF documents are scanned images of paper documents and have no selectable text. These are labelled “scanned”. Other older PDFs may not be fully tagged for screen readers.
  • Some documents are only available in one language.
  • Links to other organizations’ websites take you to sites that we do not control.

If you need a document in another format, please contact DPI.

Privacy

This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking. Your display settings are stored only in your own browser (local storage) and are never sent to us. Search runs entirely in your browser.

Messages sent with the contact form are emailed to DPI and are not stored on this website. To limit spam, the server keeps an anonymous counter of messages sent from each connection for one hour.

Feedback

If you find a part of this website that is hard to use, please tell us through the contact page. Please describe the page and the problem, and the browser and assistive technology you use.
